Pacific Standard Time: Modern Architecture in L.A.

“Overdrive: L.A. Constructs the Future” is one of the participating exhibits in “Pacific Standard Time - Architecture” opening April 9, 2013 at the Getty museum. SP&CO’s designs for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympiad will be featured. Real artifacts from the 1984 Olympics will be feature at the exhibit.

EAMES WORDS EXHIBIT

This was a labor of love created for the Architecture + Design Museum as part of the Getty’s ongoing Pacific Standard Time Art in L.A. 1945 -1980. SP&CO design of the exhibit is an homage to their mentors and friends Charles and Ray Eames. Constrained by no budget and with a short time frame, Deborah Sussman suggested the “Eames Words” direction as being “simple enough to accomplish and newly informative”. A quote from the exhibit “innovate as a last resort”.

Grand Park
July 26th, 2012

This new 16-acre park in downtown los angeles serves to unify multiple cultural institutions in the city’s civic center.

SP&CO contributed branding, graphics and information/amenities, such as a self guided “floristic regions” planting exhibit within the community based gardens.
